When President Maithripala Sirisena sacked Ranil Wickremesinghe as PM and appointed Mahinda Rajapaksa On 26th October 2018 in his place Sri Lanka was at standstill for  52 days . Parliament was first prorogued and then dissolved and the issue ended up at the Supreme Court where a seven member bench declared that the action of the president was unconstitutional. The verdict delivered by the SC is recorded in full in the book as well as recounting of the dramatic events of the 52 days Democracy survived but the drama continues.
